Explosion-Proof Design:
Explosion-proof motor meets NEC requirement for Class I Group C and D, Class II Group F and G, Division 1 hazardous locations.
All wiring embedded in filled, rigid conduit in accordance with Class I/II requirements.
NOTE: Proper installation of explosion proof equipment is critical to maintaining the explosion-proof protection aspects of the system. Customer must hard wire the motor/ffu in correlation to their specified voltage at time of installation. Therefore all wiring for explosion proof systems should be done in the field per local code by a licensed electrician.
FFU Design:
All-304 stainless steel BioSafe® housing, baffle plate, filter face grille, and filter frame ensure optimal cleanliness and stand up to alcohol and other cleaning agents.
Internal baffling plate and diffuser panel provide quiet uniform air flow across the filter face.
1/4 (6 mm) -20 threaded holes in top corners accommodate eyebolts to facilitate installation using suspended guy wires (order eye bolt package separately).
FDA-approved silicone sealant without harmful chemicals seals inside housing to prevent air leakage (specify acrylic urethane or other required sealant type when FFU is ordered).
ULPA Filter: 99.999% efficient Ultra-Low Penetration Air, rated at particles 0.12µm diameter, shipped uninstalled to prevent damage during shipping.
Medical grade filters are leak tested in accordance with IEST standards and meet UL 900.

Room-Side Replaceable (RSR) Filter for Bag-in/Bag-out (BIBO) Replacement:
RSR designs allow quick and safe Bag-in/Bag-out (BIBO) filter replacement from the inside of the room for contact-free removal of filters with potentially hazardous airborne contaminants. Because it eliminates the need for roof access or breaching the cleanroom, an RSR model also greatly reduces maintenance time and related costs.
Gel-sealed filter seats securely against a knife-edge on the fan housing.
Easy-open clips allow fast filter replacement from the room side without breaching the cleanroom ceiling.
Filter shipped uninstalled to prevent shifting in the mounting gel that could cause leaks.
Dust Collector Pan:
Collector pan accumulates dust particles that dislodge from the HEPA filter, preventing contaminants from re-entering the cleanroom. Collector pan is easily removed for cleaning or maintenance.
For applications involving toxic fumes or biohazards, module seamlessly integrates with bag-in/bag-out system for safe filter disposal and replacement.

Pre-Filter Grounding Clip
A grounding wire connects the body of the Explosion-Proof FFU to a metal wireframe embedded in the pre-filter as a safeguard against sparking.
Exposure to loud noises can lower the ability to focus on work and listen selectively, which may also lead to safety issues. Typical AC units can be annoyingly loud, measuring in the range of 70 dB (comparable to a vacuum cleaner). Terra’s WhisperFlow design produces far lower noise levels for a quiet environment comparable to a library. At 90 ft/min output, units measure under 50 dB from only 1 ft away (roughly 75% quieter than 70dB).
