Microccator™ Environmental Exposure Chamber

• Ideal for monitoring animal response to varying environmental conditions or concentrations of a test substance

Terra's revolutionary Microccator™ provides a controlled environment for exposure testing or environmental acclimation of rats, mice and other small animals or biological samples.

The system consists of sixteen chambers, each measuring 6"W x 12"D x 3"H (other chamber sizes available). Temperature and humidity in each chamber are monitored and controlled independently to allow simultaneous exposure to differing conditions. As soon as the temperature or humidity rises above a set point value, the Microccator purge controller directs a flow of conditioned air to the target chamber for as long as necessary to restore the desired environmental conditions.

The standard environmental sensor monitors temperature and relative humidity levels. Custom sensors can be used to detect other conditions, including oxygen or particulate concentrations (aerosols, spores, etc.) – call to discuss your application.

Air can be exhausted directly into the lab or directed through HEPA and/or charcoal filtration modules to remove microbes and other sub-micron particles or organic vapors, including animal smells.

SmartPlex™ Software – Convenient Control and Datalogging
Terra's SmartPlex™ option includes a hand-held computer and software package customized for the specified Microccator™ configuration.

This integrated system provides easy-view monitoring of humidity or temperature level and set points, as well as the alarm status in each Microccator chamber. It simplifies programming of separate set points for each chamber.

The SmartPlex™ onboard database software lets you customize the system for your application. You specify the number of chambers and the environmental conditions in each, including details information on the test animal and exposure times. These data can be downloaded to a remote PC for analysis or printout.
